JG Summit Holdings Inc. airline business unit, Cebu Pacific (CEB), will mount additional flights for its Manila-Puerto Princesa service starting May 8, 2008 and Manila-Zamboanga route beginning June 6, 2008.
Cebu Pacific will expand its Manila-Puerto Princesa service from ten-times weekly flights to a twice daily service. This translates to a 32% increase in capacity. The additional flights will leave Manila at 2:30pm with a convenient later afternoon return from Puerto Princesa at 4:15pm. The additional flights will operate with Cebu Pacific’s A319 aircraft.
The airline will also increase its seven-times weekly Manila to Zamboanga flights to ten-times weekly. The additional flights are scheduled to depart every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday using Cebu Pacific’s 150-seater A319 aircraft. The flight leaves Manila at 2:00pm and arrives in Zamboanga at 3:35pm. The return flight departs from Zamboanga at 4:05pm and lands in Manila at 5:40pm.
Candice Iyog, Cebu Pacific VP for marketing and product, said, “We are very happy to mount additional flights to Puerto Princesa and Zamboanga because we feel that we can further stimulate travel to these two fast developing cities. We hope to encourage more business and leisure travelers to visit these islands with increased accessibility and our trademark low fares.”
Cebu Pacific’s passenger carriage in 2007 reached almost 5.5 million guests with an average passenger load factor of 82%. Iyog added, “The added domestic and international frequencies, new routes, and opening of new destinations will help us achieve our target of carrying more than 7 million passengers this year.”
Now in its 12th year, Cebu Pacific has the youngest fleet of aircraft in the Philippines. Cebu Pacific flies to 12, soon to be 14 international destinations, with the addition of Ho Chi Minh and Hanoi, Vietnam this April. Cebu Pacific also operates flights to 21 domestic destinations with the addition of Boracay (Caticlan) beginning February 29, 2008.
