Cebu Pacific’s first ATR 72-500 has been delivered from Toulouse, France. As the first of the aircraft arrives in the country, it opens the runways to a number of smaller domestic destinations. Valued at over USD330 million for the 18 new aircraft, they can carry 72 passengers, and Cebu Pacific is the first airline in the country to have these planes. Candice Iyog, Vice President for Marketing and Product explains: “Our fleet expansion with the ATR aircraft is a critical step to achieving our goal of bringing air travel closer to more Filipinos.”
While Stéphane Mayer, ATR CEO, says: “With their ability to land on short runways, their reliability, and their ease of maintenance, the ATR aircraft will bring an optimal service to Cebu Pacific. We will be glad to take part in the expansion of Cebu Pacific and the growth of their network”.
