Cebu Pacific, a budget carrier, recently announced changes to its baggage policy in preparation for the upcoming holiday season. Passengers will now have the option to bring up to three pieces of checked baggage, providing them with greater flexibility and control over their luggage.
Previously, Cebu Pacific only allowed passengers to check in up to two pieces of baggage, with weight allowances of either 20 or 32 kilograms. However, the airline has now expanded its options, allowing passengers to choose between 20 kilograms, 24 kilograms, 28 kilograms, or 32 kilograms as part of its new baggage policy.
Candice Iyog, the Chief Marketing and Customer Experience Officer of Cebu Pacific, explained that the updated baggage policy was implemented to give passengers more control over their baggage allowance at lower rates than the current airport charges. This change aims to help customers reduce expenses and streamline the bag drop process at the airport.
In addition to the new baggage policy, Cebu Pacific has seen a positive financial turnaround in the first quarter of 2023. The airline is set to add 11 additional aircraft to its fleet this year, further expanding its capacity and improving its services.
To purchase their pre-paid baggage allowance, customers can add it through the Manage Booking portal after booking their flights online. This convenient feature lets passengers plan and manage their baggage requirements in advance, ensuring a smoother travel experience.
Cebu Pacific operates flights to 35 domestic and 25 international destinations across Asia, Australia, and the Middle East. With its updated baggage policy and continued expansion, the airline aims to provide affordable and convenient travel options for domestic and international passengers.
