Cebu Pacific expands services in international and domestic leisure markets

Cebu Pacific (CEB), will mount additional frequencies to Singapore, Hong Kong, Ho Chi Minh (Vietnam), Boracay (Caticlan), Busuanga (Coron, Palawan), and for its Davao-Zamboanga service in anticipation of strong demand in the summer season.

Starting March 29, Cebu Pacific will add four weekly mid-day flights to its current twice daily Manila-Singapore service. The airline will also increase the frequency of its Cebu-Hong Kong flights from four-times weekly to daily; and augment its Ho Chi Minh service with a Saturday flight.

This further strengthens Cebu Pacific’s position as the leading carrier from the Philippines to ASEAN region, operating 24 international routes from the airline’s hubs in Clark, Manila, Cebu, and Davao.

Domestically, Cebu Pacific will increase its Manila-Boracay (Caticlan) service to 77-times weekly from 56-times weekly. The airline also ups its Cebu-Caticlan frequency to twice daily from once daily.

Cebu Pacific will also add three flights to its Manila-Busuanga service, making it a twice daily service. It will also increase the frequency of its Davao-Zamboanga service to daily from four-times weekly.

The airline will use its eighth ATR 72-500 aircraft to mount the additional domestic flights in time for the summer peak. This brings Cebu Pacific’s weekly domestic flights to 1,206 from 1,152.

“We hope to continue stimulating air travel in these sought after destinations,” Candice Iyog, Cebu Pacific vice president for marketing and distribution, said.

“Aside from the increased frequencies, Cebu Pacific will still offer its low fares and brand new aircraft to its passengers. We hope that this will draw more local and foreign tourists to these areas,” Iyog added.

Cebu Pacific recently removed its surcharges for its international flights, reducing its fares by up to 17%. Cebu Pacific is the only Philippine carrier who has completely removed all surcharges for both domestic and international services. Passengers booking international flights just need to pay for the fare and government taxes.
