Cebu Pacific Airlines, the country’s #1 domestic airline, gives a helping hand to the victims of the recent fire incident in Mandaue City, Cebu.

Cebu Pacific Airlines transports more than 5,000 kilos of relief goods for displaced families: Cebu Pacific Airlines (CEB) provided free cargo of 5,000 kilos worth of relief goods, in coordination with the GMA Kapuso Foundation, to help the displaced families affected by a widespread Mandaue fire last March 15, 2010.

On board Cebu Pacific Airlines flights from Manila to Cebu, the GMA Kapuso Foundation was able to transport 100 sacks containing noodles, rice and canned goods in the soonest possible time.

“In times of immediate need, we make it a point to extend a helping hand to socio-civic organizations like GMA Kapuso Foundation in getting relief goods where they are needed. Since Cebu Pacific Airlines has an extensive network throughout the country, this places the airline in a unique position to assist as soon as it is needed,” said Cebu Pacific Airlines VP for Marketing and Distribution Candice Iyog.

Based on latest news reports, over 600 families were affected by fire but the number is still increasing.
There were an estimated 221 houses razed into ashes, and initial damage was pegged at P800,000.
