Cebu Pacific promotes Amazing Thailand Grand Sale with P1,499 Bangkok seats; Cebu Pacific also pushes for Leyte, Samar routes

The Philippines’ largest airline, Cebu Pacific (CEB) joins the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) in promoting the Amazing Thailand Grand Sale, which started last June 15, and will end on August 15, 2010.

Cebu Pacific announced a P1,499 ‘Go Lite’ seat sale for its Manila-Bangkok and Clark-Bangkok flights from June 19-21, 2010, for travel July 1-August 31, 2010.

Also included in the sale are P899 ‘Go Lite’ seats from Manila and Cebu to Tacloban, and from Manila to Catarman and Calbayog. Passengers with check-in luggage will just add P100 upon booking.

The Amazing Thailand Grand Sale 2010 is Thailand’s annual shopping extravaganza, offering world-class shopping with special discounts up to 80%. There will be participating retail outlets along designated shopping streets in Bangkok, and special events in Chiang Mai, Phuket, Pattaya, and Koh Samui, among others.

According to the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) Governor Suraphon Svetasreni, “TAT advises travelers that the situation here has normalized…. The things that make Thailand so appealing to visitors—our unique culture, natural attractions from mountains to beaches, incomparable value, and the welcoming hospitality of Thai people—have not changed. Thailand’s best awaits you.”

Bangkok’s shopping destinations include the Chatuchak Weekend Market, CentralWorld Shopping Complex, Siam Paragon, MBK Shopping Center, The Emporium, Siam Center, Amarin Plaza, Siam Discovery and Suan Lum Night Bazaar.

The Chatuchak Weekend Market alone has over 15,000 stalls and more than 200,000 visitors every Saturday and Sunday. It is considered one of the biggest and most famous markets in the world.

Based on Civil Aeronautics Board data, Cebu Pacific overtook Philippine Airline’s passenger numbers in the first quarter of 2010, making it the largest airline in the Philippines. Cebu Pacific operates the youngest aircraft fleet in the country, and garnered a 91.8% on-time performance in the first quarter of 2010.
